What does this measure?

On-time performance (OTP) of the Regional Transit Service in Monroe County and the City of Rochester.

Why is this important?

A reliable transportation service is critical for transit riders to get to destinations such as work, school, and medical appointments reliably and on time, and for attracting riders to the system.

How is our region performing?

In 2022, the Regional Transit Service (RTS) was on time 92% of the time in Monroe County and 93% in Rochester. These figures have held fairly steady since 2016, ranging from 90% to 92% in Monroe County and 91% to 93% in Rochester.

Notes about the data

On-time performance is measured for 3-5 stops per fixed route and defined as buses being no more than 2 minutes early and 5 minutes late. Although RTS serves counties outside Monroe, it does not measure on-time performance in the same or as reliable a way.
