2022 Report Card Event:
Make Change Happen

For the first time since 2019, ACT Rochester, our region’s community indicators program, delivered its annual Report Card to a live audience of more than 150 representing the government, business, nonprofit, faith-based, and education sectors. The event focused on the urgency of making change happen after several years of disruption.

The Report Card audience participated in an electronic poll of support for nine potential strategies to address structural racism in Rochester. The questions were informed by previous polling conducted by the Siena College Research Institute for Rochester Area Community Foundation and the Democrat and Chronicle. Resources from the event are available below. Click here to download the 2022 Report Card.

2021 Report Card Event:
Inclusive Recovery

How can Rochester achieve an Inclusive Recovery? Inclusion results in everyone having the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from economic prosperity. Overall inclusion reflects the ability of historically exclude populations - lower-income residents and people of color.

National experts Alan Berube, senior fellow at the Brookings Institute, and Christina Stacy, principal research associate at the Urban Institute, spoke on understanding how we can quickly leverage and maximize the significant federal resources coming available to our community. They were followed by insight from a panel of esteemed local leaders including Bob Franklin, Chief Financial Officer of Monroe County, Carleen Pierce, Chief Financial Office at Rochester City School District and Chris Wagner, Budget Director for the City of Rochester.

We looked back to see how the data, reports on poverty and race, community engagement, and expanded geography have informed and inspired discussion, debate, and more data-driven advocacy and decision-making.
