Community Indicators

Community Indicators are vital metrics used to assess the well-being and progress of a community. They provide valuable insights into areas such as poverty, transportation, and environment. By tracking these indicators, stakeholders have a starting point toward more informed decisions about policy and program interventions.

ACT Rochester is modeled after community indicator efforts used in many other communities and serves as a central resource for data efforts, curating information, and connecting to partner organizations’ insights.

Important things to note about the indicators:

  • Census data has a nearly two-year lag time.

  • Check the blue boxes under the visualizations for a description and deeper understanding.

  • Make sure to look for a play button, drop-down menu, or different tabs on the visualizations.

  • You can always download the data directly into Excel.

Additionally, please go to the Resources section in the main menu for published reports and other data sources, including Census data tools.
