People Without Health Insurance

This indicator displays the percentage of people under 65 who are not covered by some form of health insurance, including public programs such as Medicaid and Medicare, in our 8-county region and its localities.

  • The United States Census Bureau provides the data for the total number of individuals in our 8-county region that do not have health Insurance coverage including Medicaid and Medicare. The data spans from 2012 to 2022.

As of 2022, 3.9% of the people in the 8-county region do not have health insurance coverage, compared to 7.9% in 2012.

Monroe County

In 2022, Monroe County accounted for about 52% of the total number of people without health insurance coverage in the 8-county region, of which more than 40% resided in the City of Rochester.

Rush

Less than one-tenth of a percent (0.1%) of Rush residents were without health insurance coverage as of 2022, lowest of any town in the 8-county region.

Yates County has the highest proportion of individuals without health insurance coverage with 17.6% of its total population without coverage in 2022.
